Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how NativeIQ (“we”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our Spanish-language learning platform (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account information — such as your email, username, target dialect/region, and whether you are a learner or tutor.
  • Learning data — lesson progress, exercise results, review history, streaks, missions, and tutor–student session records.
  • Content you create — journal entries, chat messages with the AI tutor, and other content you submit.
  • Payment information — processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers; we receive limited billing and subscription status details from Stripe.
  • Usage and device data — basic technical information needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and personalize lessons, exercises, and recommendations;
  • To enable tutor–learner connections and session features;
  • To process subscriptions and payments;
  • To generate AI-assisted feedback, conversation practice, and journal insights;
  • To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations;
  • To communicate with you about your account and the Service.

3. AI Processing

When you use AI-assisted features, the relevant content (such as your chat messages or journal text) is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate a response or insight. This content is processed to provide the feature to you. Avoid submitting sensitive personal information you do not want processed by an AI service.

4. How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to run the Service:

  • Service providers — including Stripe (payments), Supabase (database and authentication), and Anthropic (AI features), who process data on our behalf.
  • Tutors and learners — when you connect with a tutor or learner, relevant learning and session information is shared with them to enable teaching.
  • Legal and safety — when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the Service.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate backup and security purposes.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage much of your data from your account settings, or contact us at hello@nativeiq.org to make a request.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
